3 Ways to Care for your Bread

Our bread is free from preservatives which means it’s the healthier choice, but it also means it only stays fresh for a few days. Keeping your bread covered and not allowing much air to get to it can really help but there’s a few other ways to prolong the life of your bread. Try these tips to get the most from your Baker Tom’s loaves.

You can freeze it

You can freeze your bread, either as a whole loaf (if you’ve bought a few and want to save them) or slice your bread before freezing, then simply defrost a couple of slices at a time, as needed.

Refresh it in the oven

If your bread has reached it’s best before date, pop it in the oven for a couple of minutes to bring it back to life – this works really well with our sourdough.

Toast it

When your loaf reaches the point where it’s not as soft as it was, toast it. Either for your morning toast with butter and jam or a lunch time toasted sandwich.

If you have any other tips for prolonging your bread, we’d love to hear them in the comments below.
